Last year, we were lucky enough to have an exhibit on the House of Duvelleroy, Past & Present at the Arts Decoratifs library in Paris. It gave us an idea: making a book to tell the story of a heritage which goes back to 1827, and our adventure since 2010 to try and renew this heritage.
For a long time we’d been searching for a tatoo artist, to imagine a signature hand-fan. We dreamed of marking with ink a leaf in skin or in leather, but it would necessarily be too thick to be pleated. So we wanted to brand a tattoo iconography on a simple cotton.
