Homo Faber San Marco Hand-fan
Unique hand-fan, “Double entente” shape,
Handmade in France
Homo Faber is a first major cultural exhibition dedicated to European craftsmanship. Highlighting the skills, knowledge and creativity of Europe’s finest artisans and designers Created by the Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship, its first edition took place in Venice during September 2018. Duvelleroy was invited to present its know-how. For that special occasion, four unique hand-fans were created with master craftsmen. By choosing the Double Entente shape (two different ways of opening the fan), Lison de Caunes widens the field of graphic possibilities as well as paying tribute to the playfulness dear to Duvelleroy. Inspired by the San Marco mosaics, the creation shows both diurnal and nocturnal patterns.
When passing through Lison de Caunes’s hands, Master Crafstman since 1996, simple straw becomes precious. Tinted, flattened and assembled, it creates patterns with a unique glow.
Wood and straw.
