Duvelleroy presents the "Nouvelle Fantaisie" capsule collection.
Three fan objects, with fabrics in shifting tones that celebrate the Parisian "froufrou" spirit as it appeared in the original house's catalogs at the beginning of the 20th century.
A classic shape in the repertoire of French fans,
the cabriolet shape features an opening between the grand tour (the upper edge of the fan leaf)
and the petit tour (the lower edge of the fan leaf).
In the version presented by Maison Duvelleroy, petals are added to enhance the lightness and vibrancy of the object.
Know How
The craftsman hand cuts the lurex leaf in one gesture to create the aperture distinctive of the cabriolet shape. He then inlays the fabric petals in each counter pleat of the lurex leaf.
Materials
Ebony sourced from Central Africa, shaped by a craftsman in Spain. Lurex made of silk and polyester.
